I have an idea of one update with creating a "old-school" football world in which:

1) no Bosman ruling (the player begins negotiations with other clubs only in the summer of the year when his contract expires);

2) no Simutenkov case (there are limitation for foreign players and "naturalized players");

3) no dissolution of the Soviet Union (which means there is Warsaw Treaty's organization, also East Germany and other Breakup of Yugoslavia) or there is unified CIS-Championship;

4) transfers of U-20 players are forbidden (except for free agents and players from lower leagues).

Thus, EPL - focus on players from UK/Commonwealth (and most iconic foreigners as "naturalized"); Ligue 1 - players from France/former French colonial empire; most players from Central/South America - Serie A & La Liga.

Clubs would focus on young players from own academies and local players. No modern football: budgets of the clubs do less by half; smaller salaries. Adding the 3rd European tournament (like UEFA Cup Winners Cup).

Update is labour-intensitive - so, if it can be realized (and if it is interesting to someone), then most likely it will need a big team - for research of squads and work in the editor. If you want to join in team - send me messages on Steam (or comments of this thread).
