[Official] Mod Suggestion Thread
Lets make sure this is the ONLY place people go to give mod suggestions. That way the discord and workshop will be a bit more clean.

I can say I have at least one of those fellas on the list right now.

While this might be better as official DLC, I'd like to see some true deep sea creatures, like anglerfish, blobfish, gulper eels etc. Especially if it would be possible to implement pressure mechanics for their care (perhaps with a new piece of equipment for pressurizing tanks).
I wouldn't mind seeing some more floating plant suggestions, as the only floating plant currently for very large tanks is the floating lettuce.

Some suggestions I have are:
-any species of the Salvinia genus
-the Indian Fern (Ceratopteris thalictroides)
-the spongeplant (Limnobium laevigatum)
-duckweeds.

I also have a suggestion for permanent juveniles as a separate animals for purchase. These focus on species which have very distinct juvenile and adult colours and sizes, such as the Emperor and French Angelfish. The juveniles can also show different behaviour to the adults, e.g. young French Angelfish are intolerant of each other while the younger Emperor will be less aggressive.

More sea stars please! Also more other-inverts. As far as I know, most animals that would eat crabs and shrimp will avoid barnacles so most animals should be compatible with barnacles. Barnacles and limpets could be put under the clam category maybe?

Barnacles
Gooseneck barnacle
Acorn barnacle
Bay barnacle
Wart barnacle
Burrowing barnacle
Ivory barnacle

Misc other-inverts
Chiton (crustacean in other-invert category)
Common Limpet
Black-Footed Limpet
China Limpet
Giant Limpet
Ribbon worms
Peanut worms
Pacific geoduck
Sea spider

Giant clam recolours:
Maxima giant clam
Green and blue giant clam
Southern/smooth giant clam
Fluted giant clam
T. rosewateri (a species of giant clam)
Crocus/saffron clam
Tevoro giant clam

A new category: invincible animals. These are animals that are toxic, venomous, or otherwise not eaten even by sharks or large fish. Could somebody add these for sandbox games? They have the same requirements as the animals already in the game (many of these already exist as mods or in base game), but IRL they are usually not eaten by other animals. Therefore, they can safely be put into tanks with sharks or large fish like groupers. A simple way to implement this is to give them a defence of 99 or something crazy.

-blue ringed octopus
-lionfish
-the various pufferfish are probably also toxic enough to be in this category
-cone snails-Geography Cone, textile cone, tulip cone, princely cone, marbled cone
-seasnakes
-greenland shark
-Flamboyant Cuttlefish
-smooth toadfish
-Pajama squid
-moray eel
-porcupinefish and box fish
-Xanthid Crab
-soapfish
-stingray
-stinging sea fern
-flower urchin
-sudden death cuttlefish

a defence of 99 is literally impossible I have to say. And from the last list: The sea krait has been made by me in Amazing Mangrove bonus disc. Stonefish is also made by me. Moray Eels/Stingrays are both in many variants already available. For the others I am not sure if people are working on them :)

I would love to see the Goldfish (Carassius auratus) in game, it could even be an hybridisable specie !
To be honest, I'm surprised that nobody modded it already
ManoZika7 24 13 Aug, 2020 @ 12:29pm
I'd like to see a small, shallow beach tank, and some small semiaquatic animals to go with it, like frogs
iamrobustus 14 Aug, 2020 @ 8:29am
I would love to see more oddball cartilaginous fish - guitarfish, sawfish, torpedo rays, and other species of manta/mobula.

I also think we need a tarpon - they're such a staple of most large aquariums, and they could be compatible with both salt- and freshwater habitats.
ManoZika7 24 15 Aug, 2020 @ 2:02pm
A freshwater clam would be cool
Arbutus 16 Aug, 2020 @ 8:14pm
I am aware many of those animals have already been created (I made that section for animals already in the game and additional animals not yet added). It just feels unrealistic to have an incredibly poisonous or venomous fish that only has a defence of 6 or something low. Anyone know what the top defence rating is? Additionally, I did notice an invincible freshwater fish (electric eel) so maybe this trait could be added to some of these animals.
Flishster 71 16 Aug, 2020 @ 8:57pm
The armored stat simply doubles their size, there is no "Defense rating". The heavily armored trait was added with Freshwater Frenzy and allows animals to be completely inedible, however.
noemamba777 17 Aug, 2020 @ 1:12am
I think the heavily armored trait only negate the health loss due to piranha bite, because I got a ripsaw catfish eaten by a redtail catfish, even so the ripsaw is an heavily armored fish.
But that happened three days after FF launch so it may have been uptaded ?
Barry 22 Aug, 2020 @ 4:02pm
More geophagus. Seems unnatural that there's just one.
