Upgrade Minor Assimilated Faction Ships?

After taking over a minor faction is there a way to mod it so their ships can be upgraded by your tech? I like having them around but the thing is they cant get the same speed as my fleet so theres no point in grouping them. If upgrading them is not possible there is there a way to atleast keep their speed on the same level as my own current tech?

You can't upgrade them. But you can increase the fleet's speed by adding into it at least one support ships with "fleet speed module" (I don't know the exact name in english, I play in french, so it could also be named "accelerator module").

As far as I know, these modules can be stacked. So, even if you can't increase the power of your minor faction ships, you can allow them to be faster.
