Applying Patterns to Only Certain Parts of Weapon Skins
Hello, I've been working on a skin for the Galant rifle that involves golden-brass metal components, and a wooden body.

I've already successfully created all of the colours, and am really happy with the product bar one thing: The wooden body I have looks like a plastic brown.

To resolve this, I've downloaded a wooden fibre pattern and already configured the necessary colour files. When I apply the pattern over my Galant, it looks great. Problem is, it applies the pattern across the metal too. Now my entire gun looks like it was made completely from wood (barrel, sight rims and all)

I was wondering, how do you edit files so that only a certain material on the gun (wooden body in my case) receives the pattern?

I have already done some research and come across this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aANsB6QLYx8

I understand it involves editing the "transparency" of certain gradients, but I'm not sure which of the layers in the base_gradient file I should be making more transparent. Also, there is a black background in the template that I used which I have turned off

I have used Overkill's provided template for base gradient, and am running Adobe Photoshop to edit this.

Oh, I've just realised, if this should have been posted in the Workshop Subforum, could a mod please move this thread?
