FC plugins / custom flight modes
Would it be possible to set up a simple system to create plugins for custom flight modes? Basically just a basic API for .dll-type plugins that exposes the flight controller data (accelerometer, gyros, etc), in-game FC settings (PID values, horizon strength, etc), and allows you to write custom loops/etc that permit experimental flight modes.

I'm looking to test new flight modes, for example: Horizon or Level modes that only apply self-leveling to the roll axis (not pitch axis), or a mode that allows me to mix Throttle control with the Pitch control using gyro data.

I obviously haven't looked at your source code, but Unity is generally very friendly toward this sort of thing, so I'm hoping that it would be pretty simple to set this up.

Hi, in theory that's possible, yes. But we will likely not support this anytime soon. Liftoff started in 2015 with back then what was available in Unity. The codebase has grown quite a lot up until now and not up to speed with how we can clearly cut ties in terms of what we make publicly available for use of plugin development (as you need some interface to develop your plugin with). It also overshoots the project goals by quite a lot, even at this point. So while it's an interesting take on what could be, we will likely not put in any time towards this soon.
