I used the warehouse and the meat warehouse. Because I had a big city growing, it seemed like a good idea. I transferred my products to the warehouses for distribution but the trucks began lining up and causing traffic jams at the next intersections. The trucks were loading (and maybe not loading) for what seemed to be an eternity. Some sat with .017 tons for a very long time and never seemed to take on more or leave. Deliveries IN went more smoothly, but everything headed OUT was a disaster. Despite sitting on huge reserves, my stores were not receiving their deliveries and soon i watched my population go down by several thousands. I blew them up and decided to build the other giant storages. I would love to use these structures, but there is some sort of problem with the loading (and possibly unloading), If I hadn't been 17 years into the game i would have started over, it was that bad. Is anyone else having similar problems?

Was it connected to power? I was just testing this and I got the effects you described when it was unpowered or not getting enough.Otherwise it seemed to work fine. Trucks can unload without power but they can't load.

I did notice issues regarding power, so maybe that was the cause, but i am not sure. I can tell you I had to play around with power for some time to get the port (in my case, for vehicles) to function. On a hunch, I kept adding smaller transformers from a string until the port received enough power to operate. Maybe if there was a large power connection attached TO the building, it would solve and take the mystery out of it. I love the structures, so I hope it can be solved/
