I'm surprised there's no Subnautica species modpack
Considering the vast populatiry of the game and the sheer amount of fish in it, I'd assume someone would have gotten on that. I'd make it myself, but I have no modeling OR coding skills whatsoever. I'd be more than willing to help create ideas for what food/enviroment requirements if someone would be willing to make it.

I don't speak for all the modding community of course, but of the modders I've talked to there seems to be a consensus that they don't want to make fictional animals because they'd prefer to work on real animals and they don't want to risk legal consequence of making animals from fictional settings.

That said, if you were willing to learn and got permission from Unknown Worlds Entertainment, there are a lot of people on the discord willing to teach you how to add animals and many of the subnautica animals would be easy to add
