does anyone know anything about editing the hud?
I was playing with the hud disabled this evening and I liked playing that way but I'd like to still see the lap counter. I poked around inside the wreckfest folder because I know how to mess around with bagedit a little but I don't even know where to start in editing the hud. if anyone knows how to remove hud elements I'd appreciate your advice

I don't know anything about changing how things look, sorry, the only things I've learned to do myself are making up my own sets of cars to race against as opponents, changing the ai names and editing how aggressive the other cars are...I don't care enough about how anything looks to want to change it I guess.
there's a Wreckfest Discord and Bugbear has forums, people have suggested I look there to get help from modders who know what they're doing. I did get a response pretty quick when I asked about changing the hud on the DIscord, unfortunately the response was "it probably isn't possible" so I'm just using it as is

There is a minimap mod for the HUD.

You might be able to replace some of the HUD textures with invisible ones. The trick is that you want to keep the lap counter.

I'm not sure if turning off HUD elements is moddable or not. I only did a quick check and also only looked at the new file structure. I didn't actually open any up but I didn't see anything too promising. Some files are un-shown now.

cool, thanks. I looked at some of the textures but I couldn't make sense of any of it. I managed to replace the damage panel with purple blotches though, lol. I decided to start streaming when i play Wreckfest again anyway, I'm sure it's more interesting for everyone when there is some info on the screen so I'll probably just leave the hud the way it is. thanks for helping me out though!
