I personally find the lack of truck in automation a major lack in game play. you can make a gas engine that basically performs like a diesel. i've done it many times, even 3 cylinders. Low redline with massive low end torque, just make the stroke as long as possible, and tune it for low end power.

Trucks and diesel engines would indeed be cool.
