Mods stopped loading [SOLVED]
I didn't play the game for a couple of days and when I've came back to it none of the mods I have installed are loading. Any advice?

First, are you using steam workshop mods, Vortex managed mods or manually installed mods?

Steam workshop

Yeah that would do it. Most of the workshop mods aren't really updated properly since they're usually reuploads of the origional other's work you really should only use simple reskins for single items and NPCs. If you want to do something more complicated your best bet would be off of deadly stream. That's where most of the mod makers post these days.

You can download and install them manually via steam. I don't think running the game off the CD would make much of a difference.

well i'm going to buy this while its onsale but i'll only give it 3 stars since I already own it and shouldn't have to pay for it twice and the mods won't load on steam for this.

Ive been having the same issue. Ive seen replies that state that this is a common issue with the steam mods but I have been playing this game with my chosen mods for almost two years now. This only started happening after putting steam on my new Macbook Pro. I unfortunately have BigSur OS so perhaps this is part of the issue?

I did the same thing and it didn't do anything. I didn't play the game for maybe 24 hours. Just tried it out again and certain mods are once again missing. I suspect it has something to do with BigSur. That OS has killed lots of things off for mac users.

Ok I think I might have figured it out. I have another game on here that I installed to an alternate folder instead of the default Steam folder.I have a mod on that game that requires a different folder. So when I would play that game it would switch to that folder and every time I would start KOTOR 2 it would go back to the default Steam folder. I guess something about going back and forth like that makes the mods disappear. I reinstalled KOTOR 2 and put it in my alternate folder and it seems to have done the trick.

Ahh okay, I'm on Windows which might be why we need different fixes
