Friends and mod maps wont load for some reason

So my friends maps aren't loading for some reason,same with the modded maps there just not working please help,So were playing the game as you do and we try to play on my friends map we go to game settings blah blah blah and there are no other maps on but the modded ones and or my friends map and it just puts any other map besides the modded one/friends maps were very confused,

By modded maps you mean custom maps made through the game's editor, right?

SOLVED: I got our custom maps working by going to the owner setting and changing the visibility to public... I had it on friends only before and that didn't work... it only worked after I set it to public.
