Anyone got some tips for mapmaking?
Just wondering. I'd like to get better at mapmaking but I don't quite know how.

What kind of tips are you looking for? Tips on how to use the editor? Tips on how to avoid buggy, messy, and/or laggy maps? Tips on map aesthetics? Tips on how to make maps 100% fair to all players? Tips on making your maps have good gameplay? Tips on ideas for maps or how to make maps at a faster pace?

All of those in a way, but I’m mainly talking about fairness and good gameplay.

Ah okay, well I have a large collection of 100% fair maps that we use for tournaments, including the fair versions of most landfall maps. 95% of these maps receive no complaints from both casual and competitive players in terms of gameplay. Here's the link if you need inspiration: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1772339254

Also, here's an edited copypaste of the criteria posted in the discord for submitting a fair custom map for use in our tournaments, in case you want some general guidelines to follow:

Maps may not contain the following:

Explosive barrels, snake barrels, crates, big crates, long crates, platforms that are really close to the top of the map, unfair placed weapons, and a roof that makes it impossible to grab the weapons that spawn mid-round.

Maps may contain the following, but don't place too much:

Spikes inside the fighting area, ice, fair placed weapons, laser platforms, and areas that are only reachable via BPJs.

Maps must have y-axis symmetry. Maps must also have the default zoom, or be completely zoomed-out. Not in between, and not zoomed-in.

I have reasoning for every bit of the criteria above if you want me to explain something within it. Keep in mind that these are general guidelines in your case, so there's no need to precisely follow them. In terms of fairness, though, maps should always have y-axis symmetry and should have the yellow+red spawns placed together on one side, and the blue+green spawns placed together on the other side. Use the mirror tool to help with symmetry. Good luck, and let me know if you'd like any more help!

You can Use F on a treadmill and see the direction changes(Flip)
and you can Rotate Objects with R

There is Editor Info in the editor on the left side with X you can make Little Box and on the top left you can choose what object you want. There is also the mouse wheel where you can increase the map and decrease the map by scrolling it in the middle of the mouse.
