Why do you hate this mechanic? I find that a normal run can hardly trigger it unless you have spells like Black Hole. If you know what to do Steve and Scott aren't really that hard. I might come off a bit "oh your problem doesn't matter" but I understand that people play this game very differently, if you're really having problems angering the gods then test wands that could break the mountain next to the statue past the perk area. If the gods are angered wait for Steve or Scott to spawn and then just jump out of the mountain, the collapse will kill him or trap him and he will then die to the desecration.

Im not breaking it. Often times I walk in and it just tells me I have angered the gods. Nothing happened. Can't see any worms and I certainly haven't broken anything.

Then it's probably spiders, which aren't repelled by the Worm Crystal, or a glitch.

cheat gui gives you the ability to select perks at the start of a run. If you can practice restraint over all of the cheats available to you in that mod. You could just use it to grant yourself the peace with the gods perk at the start of a run and not have to worry about steve or scott anymore.

also you can hide behind the statue at the far left of the shop. (the one you can damage to see your numbers.) once behind it. Steve wont be able to see you unless he gets right on top of you. Because of that he usually doesnt shoot his pink exploding death at you. Instead he will inch closer to you as his AI tries to put you in his line of sight. Once hes basicly right above you. Kick that statue straight up into him. 9/10 times its an instant kill. Dont try it with scott though. You just have to be better than scott by the time you see him. But at least with steve dealt with easily youll have a chance of pulling that off. Youll learn to depend on the gold steve gives you. Usurp the gods. good luck!

Steve is a pushover once you learn the tricks of his weaknesses (freezing + kicking for example).
Uncle Steven on the other hand, good luck.

That said, both of them die to accelerative homing rocks well enough.
