Need help making a genotype mod
So far I've learned it's simple XML. Which is great and all but I can't figure out where steam installs the mods I'm downloading from the steamworshop. I figure if I can look at someone else's genotype mod I can use those files to start working on my own by just editing things and adding what I want. I'm looking to add some more equipment slots because some things you should be able to wear together. Like a cloak and some armor or a face mask and goggles. Obviously someone could just use the mod to wear two bits of the same armor but I want it for roleplay purposes. Game balance be damned, I want to wear goggles and a face mask at the same time so I want to make a simple mod with a genotype that has two face slots and like two body slots... maybe more other stuff.

Anyway... I think I remembered there's a workshop folder in steam ah... but I'm gonna post this anyway in case some modders wanna help me and give me some tips. The wiki modding instructions aren't comprehensive. So I feel like I might be missing some important information.

Steam installs workshop mods to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\333640, where the 333640 folder is unique to Caves of Qud. Different numbered folders in the 'content' folder are for different games.

The numbered folders within that one are whatever the unique identifier of the given mod is, which you can find by going to the mod's page and clicking the share button, the string of numbers at the end of the link that pops up is the unique identifier, and will be the same string of numbers in the folder name.

Yeah, I found the game id and the folder. Now I'm trying to figure out why my game crashes after I modified the Bodies.xml.... I wonder if there are some hardcoded rules... maybe I can't give my self extra body slots? so far game just CTDs every time I start character creation and get to the stats screen

Nevermind, I forgot some / in front of > in the XML file... now it works

BEHOLD my creation! Granted... now every humanoid in the game has the same parts but that's a small price to pay
