it's mostly that people only use the sanctioned mods, which are extremely basic quality of life adjustments like seeing the numbers in your health bar which has not been implemented in the base game for 3 years now.

As someone who loved playing with mods in VT1, this is the one thing i can't quite forgive Fatshark for. They said the purpose of the moddel realm was to block cheaters but in practice it became a way to enforce "pure" gameplay by preventing any gameplay-altering mods.

Honestly, I enjoy how they did mods. You have a vanilla experience and approved mods that add QoL but don't change that experience. Than you can opt to do non-official servers where you can do whatever mods you want.

It's not really their fault that people would rather play on official servers, and that lack of progression thing isn't a debate. Non-official if for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around with whatever you want, be as cheaty as you want, or make it as difficult as you want. There is no logic to having progression on that.

lol what mods in the workshop that actually CHANGE ANYTHING besides values and fonts........there are no modded gear or weapons, no map creator i could go on and on..you sound like your incredibly annoying to talk too so dont @ me ,but your comment sounds disingenuous asf
