i've looked through this quite a bit, because i want to do something similar to the grand canyon mod - doing a much larger area of the earth than that, like doing the entire pacific northwest of the united states - and it's complicated ♥♥♥♥
but the info is there so, nothing stopping you if you wanna have at it. good surface textures with any resolution require a lot of work. all those pangea maps etc would have to be handmade
i wouldn't blame anyone for not doing even something kinda straight forward like google earth -> space engine surface textures, since they aren't getting paid for the time it takes to make those things happen
/shrug
also i am a paleontology geologist buff and best coding i can do is rpgmaker roflmao so unlikely to be able to make a map like that
