I want to make my own faction and combine different things from the various races. For example, I've grown to love the Assembly's ability to mod on-the-go. I also like that they have improved Cosmite generation with the eventual fabrication of equipment. Overall I like the Assembly. Though, I'd like to use the Vanguard units for instance.

I have Googled a decent bit and can't find any information on if it's possible to add a new playable race, and was wondering if anyone could shine some light on this subject and if so provide information on how I'd go about it.
