Report a translation problem
Hi,
first of all, please express your problem in a more constructive way.
The game has already 247 mods.
This is the first report of someone that cannot use more than a mod.
Please verify cache files for DKAS.
Also, less than a week ago, it was released a major patch for the game, so many mods' authors should still update their mods.
Define a "fail" the work of a Devteam of 3 successful games, is definitely unrespectful. If your car has an issue, you define a fail the entire car manufacturer company?
I keep my word, this dev is not friendly for modding their good game.
This game is extremely moddable! You can:
- Make your own weapons! Custom weapons can have unique skins and GUI elements, custom sound effects, and even per-character animations. See my Weapons Pack for an example, it's got everything from an RPG to a Flamethrower, each with their own GUI icon, SFX and special alts. There's even a whip to replace Agent's knife, with a full custom animation set and SFX.
- Make your own levels! Anything that's done in a vanilla map can be done in the level editor. Haru Moritaka has really pushed the limits of what's possible in their maps, and there are around 200 player-made levels available.
- Make your own chapters! For example: my Level Pack, CRONO's New West, and Haru's Rainbow Six Siege pack (note that these won't work with the new DLC though)
- Make your own characters! Like CyborgCommando's awesome Left 4 Dead character replacements (which also have voice replacements!), or Lex's unfinished Robocop for example
- Replace the entire tileset!! See GartenMensch's crazy "Super Door Kicker Bros" levels for a great example, there are title screen replacement mods available too
- Replace pretty much the entire GUI! Just take a look at the incredibly ambitious Zeal Squad, made by HerpbI nNDOPACbI
- Replace the soundtrack!
- Replace the SFX!
- Lastly, you can change pretty much every single stat in the game, from gun recoil, to character jump height, to enemy HP. My massive mod REBALANCE uses this to totally rebalance the game.
So yeah, this game is really moddable, and you can tell the devs put a lot of effort into making things easy to mod.Changing stats in particular is really easy too -- the moddable XML files have some really helpful comments, and I made a data spreadsheet (in the Steam guides) which gives you a great overview of what each stat does. Changing animation sprites is a bit harder, but there are guides for that too!
There are definitely limitations, but apart from a couple of major issues -- which is that enabling mods prevent stars from being earned, and every major update seems to break existing mods -- most of the limitations are really niche things you'd never know about, unless you've spent at least a dozen hours modding already.
The community is also great, we've got a Discord full of helpful people who are excited to talk about the game and modding it, and even in the forums you'll find people helping each other out wherever they can.
TL;DR: This is a great game to mod, and while I agree that there could be more mods available, it's mostly limited by the ambition (and spare time!) of people like you and me :)
