My low FPS is a big issue to enjoy the game!
Oh and if your laptop is overheating, you can always do 1 of 2 options
- Renew thermal paste (If you've used it for a big while)
- Buy a Laptop Cooling Pad (mine has 3 fans, which totals to 5)
Do be aware to select the right size for your laptop (You don't want a tiny cooling pad on a large laptop, do you?)
However, if 40 FPS doesn't satisfy you, and you wish to get a higher count, you can always try (if you have Geforce) optimising the game (which, while also can give 40 FPS, also yields less fps drops, which is a big change)
If you're still not satisfied with the result you can either
- Get a new, stronger laptop/computer (More expensive)
- Build your own computer! (It's usually cheaper, and if you know how to, it'll be a moneysaver, and a improvement.)
As of now I have a GTX 1660 with a Intel UHD which allow me to go 40-30 FPS on Dying Light
Now i'm sure alot of people who use gaming laptops would've heard of ASUS, which I use the F15 gaming laptop.

Sorry to hear that you have issues, but I must ask - what do you base "The vast majority of people use gaming laptops..." on?
