The exception to that however, is inertial dampeners. They REALLY need an intermediate (Xanion/yellow would work) and a buff to how strong they are, as they really use a lot of energy (and therefor significantly increase space/size for a build) for not a lot of braking power.
OP is asking if Hangars can be modded to be made with IRON, instead of Trinium. To my knowledge this is not currently possible, as the blocks themselves are hard-coded and cannot be modded yet.
-Free Play: Check the box that unlocks all Building Knowledge
-Resources: Use /give Wolfhunter 100000 trinium (assuming that's your in-game name, and that's just an arbitrary amount...whatever you would need to get going)
It won't be as satisfying, but it will get you the blocks you want without going into Trinium space. Still...it's not really that scary there. Consider adjusting the difficulty or using a few mods to tweak the game balance to a point where you feel comfortable advancing.
