If I want to play a DLC prison with a friend, we both have to buy the DLC?

We dont know if we both have to buy the DLC, so please help me

you dont have to both have it, only the host ALTHOUGH you wont get the vanity item aswell as the tick on your criminal record if you buy it after the game was made
