Action: PortraitParticles
Hi. This is an option when creating dialogue. Is this implemented in the game? If so, do you have a list of the Particle Preset Names that are available as input? None are listed in the Help Guide. Thanks.

Ah, that's an oversight on my part! I'm adding those to the Guide as Particles 2D. In the meantime, here are the ones currently supported:

Hi again. I can't get PortraitParticles to work. I've tried them on both Cut Scenes and Battle Dialogue. I am using PortraitParticles as an Action in the Dialogue boxes. is this the correct way to use the command?

Yup, you're doing nothing wrong--Unity just made the portraits lose reference to their 2D particle systems for some reason. It'll be fixed in a jiffy!

OK, we are almost there. PortraitParticles now makes the correct action occur, e.g. putting an exclamation mark or a coin over the character portrait. However, it happens incredibly quickly. The description for "Exclamation" is "A single large exclamation point appears, floats slowly upwards, and vanishes." Instead I am seeing an exclamation mark flash for a split second and then disappear. The delay function delays when the exclamation mark appears, but it still flashes and disappears from the portrait just as quickly.

This isn't urgent. I have plenty of other stuff to work on. I just thought it was a cool feature to explore.

Thanks for letting me know. Is this in a cut scene, a battle, or both?

In battle dialogue the exclamation mark appears like described above (i.e. it flashes quickly on screen). I couldn't get it to appear in a non-battle Cut Scene (or it appeared too quickly for me to see).

Hm, that's weird. It's working for me. Email me your campaign folder (zipped) and I'll see if I can figure out why it's not showing up for you.

Hi. OK, this is now working for Cut Scenes. Yesterday it wasn't working for an existing Cut Scene where I had PortraitParticles set up, but it did work when i set up a brand new cut scene. So I went back to the existing cut scene, deleted the PortraitParticles line and reentered it, then it worked. For battle dialogue it works but is still way too fast.

Do you still want to see my campaign or can you replicate the battle issue?

No need--I see the battle particles issue. I've made a note to fix that.
