Now just heard it was 3 pedestrians (trespassers?) that were struck by train.

Terrible, quite close to home as well. I would have thought there's not really many places to trespass or go to as it's all raised up on viaducts. Either way thoughts to all those involved.

Second that, thoughts with families. Now they talking about "Near to Brixton" burt as you say it's mostly up on (fairly high in places) viaducts around there. Guess we have to wait for more precise location etc, to understand what's happened.

Yes, I guess Brixton is more of a well-known location. As ever people have been as insensitive and just complained that their trains are delayed. Sky News and other news outlets even showed fairy graphic footage which is unacceptable and extremely disrespectful. The state of humanity nowadays shocks me sometimes.

I blame social media and all those young 'uns taking a squillion selfies a day! SoSo different to when I was a teenager and we had to queue outside the red phone box at the end of the road!

It seems the victims (if that's the right word for people who willfully put themselves in harm's way) were graffiti "artists"- vandals then or trespassers at best. Whilst one has some sympathy for the families and they clearly paid too dearly for their folly it's the driver I have the most concern for.

I agree with this statement, it's not only the families that were affected, the Driver and His/Her family was too and being an Retired Train Driver, I know just how hard it affects you as a Driver, having had one or two sucides myself in my long railway career.

It is believed that they were killed by and ECS train at night but I don't think that the police have identified the train involved yet (as of last week, no news since then). The driver must not have realised or been able to see/hear them when the train passed. When they do find out it must be very traumatic.

I pass the location where they were killed quite often and the area is covered in graffiti. It is vandalism and they were causing damage to railway property but I do sympathise, street art is sort of the culture around that area. They are now thinking of having ''safe'' hours in which artists are allowed to go up there. I think this is a brilliant idea and prevents such trajedies.

"....They are now thinking of having ''safe'' hours in which artists are allowed to go up there. I think this is a brilliant idea and prevents such trajedies...." HHhhmmmm.....

While I would like to think this would help, I actually suspect that it will make little difference. Part of the 'Fun' aspect for them (maybe not all) is the challenge of dodging the danger and getting away with it. Spraying the places that are hard to get at and legally 'out of bounds' is part of the 'game'. Or am I wrong?

You definitely have a point. I would hope that this kind of event does signal to others the dangers that railways hold, but as you say it is the adrenaline that drives some people. Even if the new scheme draws only some away from illegal actions it is better than nothing.
