What would be involved in you releasing a barebones version of your in-house map creation tool, like, the minimum required to produce a playable map, like just a texturized 3D enviroment bundled with the textures and using some standard lighting like what the drawing board uses or whatever?
There's more involved to creating environments than just having some 3D objects with textures I'm afraid, that idea illustrates exactly the difference between the wish of some community members and the reality of such requests. Creating functional environments is highly complex, the creation of 3D textured objects just being a small part of what's involved.
I've coded my first game on an Atari 520... I don't say it's easy oc but interoperability in 3D modeling and map editing is no dream. There is lot of good open source tools to achieve this. Even for you, not relying too much on Unity tools should be a strategic goal.
We understand that tone of conversation is becoming almost a standard on the internet nowadays, but not in our community and not on our watch. We have conversations here, not some random rants and useless "yes no yes no yes no" discussions for the "lolz" of it. This is not kindergarden, if you have been programming for over 20 years i'm sure you are capable of expression your opinion in a mature way too.
