ET setting in either Vehicle Editor, or config.txt
Trying to set the ET\Offset of wheels in a particular vehicle variant I'm working on.

I get the suspension right, with the strut tops in the right position, but the tyres now clip with the struts. I need a means of adjusting the ET\Offset of the wheels to counter this, and fill the wheel arches.

It seems like a painfully simple thing, it's even mentioned in a recent set of patch notes. But I have yet to see ANY mention of ET in the editor, and cannot find a single entry in the Wheels sections of any config.txt file.

Hey, buddy. I posted a little bit ago in the "WE NEED SPACERS" thread in response to your dilemma. I think it'll help you out.

Cheers.

I know I answered this in discord, but for anyone else you just add et=(a number between 5-150) (i.e. et=55) for both the front and rear wheels. Do this while not in the editor, because configs are only loaded upon the initial loading of the editor.

200 is max in-game, but any config will only recognize 150 in config.txt. Refer to "SPACERS" post, @kuhhnt. This can't be done in the editor as of now, even though a past changelog stated that it could be.

Thanks a bunch folks, I wound up sorting it out with help in the discord.

I has suspected an et related line for config.txt, and it was definitely the case, as per deadbob777s reply here.

Lowercase et= as a line in the relevant wheel section. I inserted mine under the rim= size line>

For my purpose, et=25 for the front, and et=50 for the rear wheels of the 240z worked a treat, changing the effective offset of the default wheels for the variant I made.

I allowed a very comfortable use of 275s under the rear, without clipping, and sitting ‘just so’ under the guards.

So I built the car up to the point where my wheels were clipping through suspension on the fronts, using the vehicle editor, then saved the variant, closed the editor and added/changed the et= parameter in the relevant config txt file, saved the file, then relaunched the editor to inspect.

Rinse and repeat until I wound up with that satisfactory fitment.

Edit;

I should add, the parameter for the config.txt file is case sensitive. I always figured there’d be one, I just didn’t know the correct syntax for the game.

The game wants LOWER CASE as below:

et=50

Nothing else seems to register.

FWIW, the hate build, a 240Z with 13b slung low, and as far back as the trans tunnel and firewall would permit, featuring a land rover exhaust to poke it out before the rear wheel.

Forgive the Uncropped screenshot. Dropbox gets both monitors automatically.

In next patch ET limit from config will be increased to 200.

I think that you misinterpreted changelog. It meant that ET from config is now visible on loaded car in Car Editor. Not option to change it.

Oh, ok. My mistake. I still don't see it in the editor. Am I overlooking it?

I just checked and ET from config is visible on car in car editor

Would you care to post a screen, or where should I look for it? I'm not seeing it anywhere.

There is no option to change ET in car editor. I just mean that ET from config is visible on loaded car, nothing more.

I know, but I'm wondering where you're seeing it displayed in the editor. It doesn't show for me in the Wheels section, or anywhere else.

ET value itself is not displayed in Car Editor UI.

Oh, you were talking about the wheels being visibly offset. Yeah, I was talking about the ET value. Thanks. I'm slow today.
