I've noticed all item by the user 'Stationmaster' have just vanished. Anyone know why?

Disregard, I was wrong.

That is a very good question. I'll check their profile and see if I find anything (but you're right, practically all of their workshop stuff is indeed gone).

Edit: Well, based on the comments on one of Station's few remaining mods (the Hot Air Balloon, looks like Station and ABStudios got into some sort of heated argument, probably on Discord, and Station wasn't happy with the reaction from the rest of the community. Here's the two direct quotes I found:

All because of a stupid random kid who you took their insults personally. Just please post them back, we need them. Also we don't think ABS is better than you... So please come back...

Now, I don't know what all went on in this argument (or what the initial disagreement was over, etc.) but it looks to me that Station took things personally, reacted based on emotion, and took down all of the locomotives and stuff they had posted (with a few Japanese units and the balloons being the only exception for reasons unknown).

It's certainly disappointing to lose all of those mods, but I figure either Station will eventually relent (I've seen at least one post asking why all of their mods were removed from back in 2019, so it appears this isn't the first time), or someone else will end up making replacement versions.

A bigger shame is that the many liveries that used Station's various mods are now also totally unusable. Rather than simply refusing to provide content, Station has also practically destroyed the work of a lot of other people as well.

Okay, further update. I joined the RL Discord in hopes of finding more answers for us (well, now I guess y'all) non-Discord folks, so this'll cost extra :steamhappy:

Here's a brief play-by-play from what I can deduce:
  • Station got a 12-hour mute in Discord for (apparently) posting a GIF with a sign that said "♥♥♥" (abbreviation for "kill yourself") as a response to... something (possibly a video?), and therefore received a 12-hour mute
  • "Other parties" involved (no idea who) were originally planned to receive 3-6 hr mutes, but after discussion among the server moderators, this was reduced to 2 hours for each, except for Station (who still got the 12-hour ban)
  • Station left and re-joined the server, losing his existing roles in the process, to bypass the mute
  • Station got into an argument with Hamm (the moderator who suggested the mutes to the other mods), having learned/decided that Hamm was solely responsible for the 12-hour mute
  • Other users generally agreed that Station deserved the mute, while Station remained convinced that if he were any other user, his mute would only have been for 2 hours
  • Station abruptly left the server (and then either rejoined or joined on an alt), likely out of anger at his perceived treatment.

Following this, Stationmaster removed all workshop items except for the few Japanese units and the Balloons, after which he made the following statements (among a few others):

Originally posted by Stationmaster:
I was always told my mod's were ****, I guess that changes when they're not available anymore
Originally posted by Stationmaster:
Everyone's always told me they were...
... "laggy, incorrect, and Don't fit the game's style"
So I've stopped trying
Originally posted by Stationmaster:
They're completely gone
(someone asks if he can send them some of the models) I don't have the models
I deleted every blueprint, every work in progress model and every model from the workshop
It's pretty clear I'm not welcome here so that's why

It appears that Station then left not only the official Rolling Line Discord server, but also any/all other RL servers/communities he was present in.

The current situation is as follows:
  • Stationmaster is either totally inactive or simply absent from every Rolling Line-related community he was a member of.
  • Any and all of Stationmaster's workshop items (that individual users had not made personal, manual copies of) appear to be completely and irreversibly lost.
  • Any layouts that used Stationmaster's workshop assets are now partially nonfunctional at best.
  • All liveries or livery packs that were for, or were dependent on, any of Stationmaster's workshop items (and there are easily a hundred or more) are now totally, completely, and seemingly irrevocably nonfunctional, through no fault of their original authors.

Several users appear to be attempting to assemble a collection of Station's mods that had been manually backed up prior to this sequence of events, and a few others are working on converting their liveries to work with ABStudios' variants of some locomotives, but for certain a good deal of workshop content has been irretrievably lost or rendered unserviceable.

Its sad, no one benefits, but, from what I've seen, got a taste of his own treatment. SMRY comes to mind. Along with several rude comments directed at me here at WS.

it's sad to see this case of deleted mod, although I understand it too I haven't been very well received on the discord server
elENblef 6 Oct, 2022 @ 6:07pm
now that the Stationmaster has stepped down maybe SMRY could be allowed to return, just maybe he would begin to re-upload once again now that Rolling Line World War over?. I really don't believe Stationmaster's done with Rolling Line by any means, just a time to reflect.

It had literally nothing to do with ABstudio's. I stepped down from server admin because I was tired of seeing the political channel and constant fighting within it, after being treated like crap by the server members and the current staff doing nothing to quell it, I got upset and deleted all my american mods, I had been gas-lite into thinking my models were extremely unpopular and disliked by the majority of the community thanks to the good folks on the discord. The mute was due to a user telling other people to kill themselves, and threatening to sue random people while the admins did nothingl, 2 hours after all was said and the user left on their own volition, I got a 12 hour mute for posting a singular gif, it was a tf2 scout dancing around holding a sign that said "♥♥♥", the other users who got 2 our mutes had continued the fighting for way longer and said way worse stuff.(talking with the only admin I still talk with, I had accepted a 4 hour mute as being fair for what i did, was lied to and made to believe this was going to happen, than was back-stabbed and got a 12 hour mute) after the 12 hours the only admin on duty at the time checked off for the night so I had to rejoin to drop my mute, of course people decided this was ban evading even though it was well after the 12 hours, admins never said anything about this. Finally I left the community after being harassed constantly with the admins doing nothing to stop it, I will not becoming back anytime soon as it's been made very clear I'm not welcome here. A week ago I thought I was a pretty liked member of the community and was happy to provide content even though at the time i still thought it was crap thanks to public opinion on the discord. Today I have exactly one member from that server I talk with, everyone else has blocked me, banned me from any side communities, and drug my name through the dirt. The final nail in the coffin that made me completely quit the community was thanks to a handful of scumbags going out of their way to dox my private accounts.

Hi! I'm one of the administrators on the Rolling Line Server, and a moderator here as well. I'd like to clear some things up @eIENblef.

-Firstly, none of this had to do with ABS. Stationmaster thinks ABS is "a pretty cool guy"

-The mutes for other involved parties were set at 4 hours, which was reduced to two hours, except the person who triggered the issue, who was banned (this is the person who Stationmaster responded to with the GIF). That individual started the issue.

-The mute had expired when Stationmaster rejoined, it wasn't an attempt to bypass the duration of the mute.

- TMK Stationmaster is OK with re-uploads of existing mods. I have personally asked him about this topic and he has stated all originals are gone, which is very unfortunate. If you do reupload his mods I would ask that you credit him, otherwise the mod will be removed.

- SMRY is banned from the Discord server for very good reasons, and has continued to cause drama here, clearly. This is unfortunate, as the staff had attempted to accommodate him for quite sometime.

- SMRY will absolutely not be allowed to return. The entire staff has always been in agreement on that point. SMRY has been breaking server rules nonstop regarding propagation of drama and misinformation, and continues to do so. SMRY spreads misinformation on other websites and train forums concerning the server and the community, and it's really a shame. We were very sympathetic to SMRY for quite some time, but that sympathy evaporated around the time he started comparing us to the SS.

"oh wait you're serious let me laugh even harder"
SMRY's departure had literally nothing to do with me, he decided I was the favorite for some reason and decided to constantly harass me, idk why he likes me so much. Any moderation I did towards him was thanks to gauge or other admins, I had no beef with the guy, I never cared much for him but I never had issues with him either.

Yeah, really a poor guess about ABS on my part. My bad! (For the record, it was pretty much based entirely on the "we don't think ABS is better than you" line, which was about all the information I had found at the time of my first reply. I was initially thinking there was some sort of argument about Station vs ABS or something, but that indeed was not even remotely what happened.)

Sorry to hear that you don't plan on coming back, Stationmaster, but from your perspective I can understand the decision. I actually had a kind of similar thing happen to me with a different community about a year ago, and I can relate somewhat to where you're coming from on this.

And thanks for the additional clarifications, GIB CHECHENS!

I'm inside the RL Discord under another username for safety reasons. I've listened to so many derogatory remarks towards SMRY since I've joined. I've heard both sides of the story. I believe little of both, have formed my own opinions. What's said outside the Workshop has no place inside Rolling Line by anyone. The world is what it is. The very same things went on in the original mod community with many of the same involved. I was a silent member there too so I have my own opinion from that to go alongside as well. He said she said, no one wins regardless.

1 I've no idea what or whom you reference to with "ABS" perhaps for someone else?.
2 Reference to TMK Stationmaster, ban, no ban not my concern That's a matter for the discord.

Regarding SMRY again I've been following at times both side of the community. I've formed my own opinion. As to being an admin here at the workshop, it was brought out not long ago by the Dev himself, he is the only one that oversees all things Steam Rolling Line, fine. Someone's not being truthful about staffing matters. Again I'll keep my opinions locked away. for safety.

this makes me really glad i never did join the discord community as it would seem to be full of hateful members from the looks of this.

Very sorry about what happened to you stationmaster and it was completely unfair for them to do that to you. very understanding as to why you decided to remove the mods since they clearly have no respect towards actual quality mods made by good willed people.
Ok so at the time of me posting this Station removed ALL of his RL uploads, before it was bad, now its worse because i have made 2 or 3 packs with his mods being bases, this time i have no clue why it happened, does anyone know anything?

I gave it a couple months to let everything blow over, and the moment I started trying to upload train mods again they immediately got stolen and picked apart elsewhere while people complained about how it looked, so I decided to pull all my mods because this community will not change and there's no point in me wasting my time with it.
oh sorry man, hopefully it will change in the future as more people start making stuff and realize how bad that stuff that happened to you really is
