That is a very good question. I'll check their profile and see if I find anything (but you're right, practically all of their workshop stuff is indeed gone).
Edit: Well, based on the comments on one of Station's few remaining mods (the Hot Air Balloon, looks like Station and ABStudios got into some sort of heated argument, probably on Discord, and Station wasn't happy with the reaction from the rest of the community. Here's the two direct quotes I found:
Now, I don't know what all went on in this argument (or what the initial disagreement was over, etc.) but it looks to me that Station took things personally, reacted based on emotion, and took down all of the locomotives and stuff they had posted (with a few Japanese units and the balloons being the only exception for reasons unknown).
It's certainly disappointing to lose all of those mods, but I figure either Station will eventually relent (I've seen at least one post asking why all of their mods were removed from back in 2019, so it appears this isn't the first time), or someone else will end up making replacement versions.
A bigger shame is that the many liveries that used Station's various mods are now also totally unusable. Rather than simply refusing to provide content, Station has also practically destroyed the work of a lot of other people as well.
Okay, further update. I joined the RL Discord in hopes of finding more answers for us (well, now I guess y'all) non-Discord folks, so this'll cost extra
Here's a brief play-by-play from what I can deduce:
Following this, Stationmaster removed all workshop items except for the few Japanese units and the Balloons, after which he made the following statements (among a few others):
It appears that Station then left not only the official Rolling Line Discord server, but also any/all other RL servers/communities he was present in.
The current situation is as follows:
Several users appear to be attempting to assemble a collection of Station's mods that had been manually backed up prior to this sequence of events, and a few others are working on converting their liveries to work with ABStudios' variants of some locomotives, but for certain a good deal of workshop content has been irretrievably lost or rendered unserviceable.
It had literally nothing to do with ABstudio's. I stepped down from server admin because I was tired of seeing the political channel and constant fighting within it, after being treated like crap by the server members and the current staff doing nothing to quell it, I got upset and deleted all my american mods, I had been gas-lite into thinking my models were extremely unpopular and disliked by the majority of the community thanks to the good folks on the discord. The mute was due to a user telling other people to kill themselves, and threatening to sue random people while the admins did nothingl, 2 hours after all was said and the user left on their own volition, I got a 12 hour mute for posting a singular gif, it was a tf2 scout dancing around holding a sign that said "♥♥♥", the other users who got 2 our mutes had continued the fighting for way longer and said way worse stuff.(talking with the only admin I still talk with, I had accepted a 4 hour mute as being fair for what i did, was lied to and made to believe this was going to happen, than was back-stabbed and got a 12 hour mute) after the 12 hours the only admin on duty at the time checked off for the night so I had to rejoin to drop my mute, of course people decided this was ban evading even though it was well after the 12 hours, admins never said anything about this. Finally I left the community after being harassed constantly with the admins doing nothing to stop it, I will not becoming back anytime soon as it's been made very clear I'm not welcome here. A week ago I thought I was a pretty liked member of the community and was happy to provide content even though at the time i still thought it was crap thanks to public opinion on the discord. Today I have exactly one member from that server I talk with, everyone else has blocked me, banned me from any side communities, and drug my name through the dirt. The final nail in the coffin that made me completely quit the community was thanks to a handful of scumbags going out of their way to dox my private accounts.
-Firstly, none of this had to do with ABS. Stationmaster thinks ABS is "a pretty cool guy"
-The mutes for other involved parties were set at 4 hours, which was reduced to two hours, except the person who triggered the issue, who was banned (this is the person who Stationmaster responded to with the GIF). That individual started the issue.
-The mute had expired when Stationmaster rejoined, it wasn't an attempt to bypass the duration of the mute.
- TMK Stationmaster is OK with re-uploads of existing mods. I have personally asked him about this topic and he has stated all originals are gone, which is very unfortunate. If you do reupload his mods I would ask that you credit him, otherwise the mod will be removed.
- SMRY is banned from the Discord server for very good reasons, and has continued to cause drama here, clearly. This is unfortunate, as the staff had attempted to accommodate him for quite sometime.
- SMRY will absolutely not be allowed to return. The entire staff has always been in agreement on that point. SMRY has been breaking server rules nonstop regarding propagation of drama and misinformation, and continues to do so. SMRY spreads misinformation on other websites and train forums concerning the server and the community, and it's really a shame. We were very sympathetic to SMRY for quite some time, but that sympathy evaporated around the time he started comparing us to the SS.
"oh wait you're serious let me laugh even harder"
SMRY's departure had literally nothing to do with me, he decided I was the favorite for some reason and decided to constantly harass me, idk why he likes me so much. Any moderation I did towards him was thanks to gauge or other admins, I had no beef with the guy, I never cared much for him but I never had issues with him either.
Sorry to hear that you don't plan on coming back, Stationmaster, but from your perspective I can understand the decision. I actually had a kind of similar thing happen to me with a different community about a year ago, and I can relate somewhat to where you're coming from on this.
And thanks for the additional clarifications, GIB CHECHENS!
1 I've no idea what or whom you reference to with "ABS" perhaps for someone else?.
2 Reference to TMK Stationmaster, ban, no ban not my concern That's a matter for the discord.
Regarding SMRY again I've been following at times both side of the community. I've formed my own opinion. As to being an admin here at the workshop, it was brought out not long ago by the Dev himself, he is the only one that oversees all things Steam Rolling Line, fine. Someone's not being truthful about staffing matters. Again I'll keep my opinions locked away. for safety.
Very sorry about what happened to you stationmaster and it was completely unfair for them to do that to you. very understanding as to why you decided to remove the mods since they clearly have no respect towards actual quality mods made by good willed people.
