There really is no mechanic for empathy in Kenshi, besides healing downed enemies. Let's hope that for K2
You could try out being a pacifist.
Feed hungry bandits, or imprison those attacking your outpost then clothe them and release them. Train hungry bandits until they're strong enough to defend themselves, then make the choice to release them afterwards, or not. Educate them in the sciences. Start out a school maybe. Don't sell weapons or armour for trade aside from food or beverage. Only imprison for life those who REALLY wronged your faction. Or you can maybe go as for as to assassinate the leaders of the holy nation for the other factions to take over, then back those cities by making several outposts in the Holy Nation that bolster food production and education for all factions around.
It's not entirely impossible. In fact, it may not make sense trying to do this, since you'll have to try very hard to conform in between morality and morally gray areas, even break your code once in a while along the way if that's how you like it. It's still a matter of your choosing, however. Fu***** sh** up gets a little old sometimes.
P.S. Most of this I came up with at the top of my head. Will try these out later on.
