Do you share useful Tech, or late game Tech?
I've racked in about 130 hours on my campaign. Acquired all licensees with every faction, and manufactured just about every block available in game.

I of course, have created several behemoths and monster Techs to navigate the world of TerraTech. One is actually my first vehicle ever, constantly upgraded and enlarged over time, but essentially. Its just an augmented and larger version of the same vehicle I started with so many hours and days ago.

Yet, I'm curious what others have been doing, particularly with early game help, so I thought I'd check out the workshop.

Low and behold, late game tech everywhere. Gigantic overkill techs of every flavor imaginable, and usually built with a mix of every single corporation in the game. They have all the bells and whistles. Every block, component and weapon one would need to play the game without worry.

So... What's the point of that? Is it for creative mode? to see how something was achieved, and then reverse engineer it for your own needs?

If you're in single player campaign, like many people are, and you download any one of the numerous Tech's available here. How are noobies and beginners actually going to be able to utilize them? By the time they have completed all the missions, and acquired all the blocks and or BB cash to deploy these mega Techs, they'll have probably created their own monster do-it-all Techs, right?

I guess what I'm trying to say, is this: while its awesome to see so many creative and innovative Tech's shared here, most of them serve no purpose at all, since they're made with more blocks than the average player will ever have available to them. When they finally do have access to them all, do they even need another mega Tech?

There's not a lot of efficient, relatively cheap, and corporation centrist techs that would actually help people in the first 50-100 hours of gameplay on here, and that's a shame.

In the case of TerraTech sharing, bigger is better, does not apply. I'm 99.9% certain if those that are inclined to share, shared more useful and accessible Tech's. Things that could actually be deployed by the average player in their campaign game, prior to maxing out their own skills, they would be received with a better reception and download number by the community that downloads these things.

While its nice to see monster Techs with 1k's of blocks, that can kill anything in a shot or two. Who's actually going to use that, versus say, a compact mobile fabrication facility you can build early on, or all purpose field vehicle made with blocks that are readily available early game?

I thought about sharing my own Techs on here, some of which I'm proud of, but I thought about the very thing I'm describing in this post. What would be the point? I needed shared tech about 100 hours ago. I don't need it now. Likewise, few will need mine.

In my opinion, in early game, is better to build from scratch by your self other than using downloaded techs, because you change parts very often and have to use everything that's in your hand, most players can only afford a decent compact downloaded tech in mid to end game if they already got parts in hand, otherwise they will just upgrade the tech they're already using because it's more convenient.

I agree with you that we need more compact build on workshop, but not for the reason of been able to access decent tech early on, but for the convenience of mid to end game, fortunately, players are gaining experience form building in campaign, learning the need for each situation, therefore coming up with more campaign friendly build.

Lastly, people appreciate"cool" techs, the coolness is not just about size or fire power, people wouldn't want to download a monster tech that looks lame, if build in good taste, even techs that only has the minimum function can have many people download them, because if you only want functionality, you better build it by your self.

Hello,

When I started, I was struggling with building a proper defence tower, and that made me check workshop, but I could find nothing helpful. While at certain point you would like to find a crazy mega vehicle to destroy everything, there is almost nothing for beginners. More to that, some techs have incorrect tags, like hovercrafts and tanks marked as "tower" or marked "hawkeye" but have blocks from every other corp in it, which I don't have yet.
