use the dominate spell on follower

Right now I have a follower using a crap shotgun and they're refusing to use any other ranged weapon I give them. I keep getting shot by the spread, which is hilarious, but I could really do with a way to force them to un-equip it.

All you have to due is use Shift+w to bring up the wish command, type in swap and click on your follower (I think you have to be standing next to them). This gives you full control of them and you can swap out gear from their inventory and spend skill/mutation points (if they have any unspent). No need for any mods. Also good for curing fungal infections on companions; in fact I'm not sure of any other way to do so.
