Someone should Improve Europa Barbarorum
Now, I will say that I'm really glad someone has ported Europa Barbarorum over to Rome Remastered and all, but I have become aware of some of the limitations and problems that the mod had and still has, which is mainly with how some units work.

I mean, I like many of the units, as they do feel really flavorful and kind of feel like different tribal and such units, but I do feel like many of them just don't work as they should from both a historical and gameplay perspective.

It's stuff like how many of the hoplite and supposed phalanx units have long spears and can't form phalanxes and don't have swords as secondary weapons and it just feels kind of ridiculous.

I mean, this is kind of why I want to see CA make a new TW game set in the era of Antiquity again, as they could port over some mechanics such as the weapon switching from Troy so units such as hoplites and others could at least have both swords and spears. But back to the main point.

I just wish that the guy who ported EB to Rome Remastered or someone else would take this great mod and make it better, as well as being multiplayer compatible, as the guy who ported it made a sub mod that made custom and supposedly multiplayer battles playable with the mod, without the rosters being nothing but random units as well.

But I just think that it'd be really nice to see this great mod be improved upon this mod so that it was even better than before, but like I said, I do wish that CA would just add a lot of these sorts of features into a full TW game set in Antiquity again.

I mean, just look at how long these spears and pikes are.

Spartan Spears

Pikes

Yeah, the pikes are appropriately long, but those spears the Spartans have are easily long enough to be used in a Rome 1 phalanx.

And what's worse, is the fact that if you look closely, you can see the Spartans actually have swords on their hips.

This may sound nasty, but it's entirely not intended.
Maybe that someone should be you. Anyone can learn to mod.

Watching this video, it looks like weapon switching was part of Rome 1, I don't see why this couldn't be done, it's probably a unit setting that could be changed in whatever spread sheet file handles that in Rome 1, or however it's done. I've dipped my toes slightly in screwing with Attila but I imagine Rome 1 should have a lot of (likely old) information on how to mod it.

Well, I know how to mod the newer TW games, but it has been many years since I ever messed around with modding Rome 1, which Rome Remastered seems to be very similar to.

But if you download EB for Rome Remastered, you'll see that most hoplite units can't actually form phalanxes and therefore don't switch to swords, even though there are literally supposed to be phalanx units, which I just think is kind of silly.

I just think that they EB mod team or whoever should've kept the ability for those types of units to use swords and such as secondary weapons.
