How to change state regions' arable resources?
I want to add arable resources to states.

As far as I can tell, the information is stored in game/mapdata/state_regions

However, after editing some of those files in my mod directory, there is no change as far as I can tell. Does paradox allow us to mod those files? Or is there some other way to do what I want to do?

As in the actual available resources that you can develop buildings on? Like making Munster produce Rubber for example... or do you mean the subsistence farming arable land production? If its the latter you can edit it in common/production_methods/12_subsistence.

the former. To my knowledge it is not possible, but I would like to pull from the wealth of wisdom within the community.

The game splits resources between two categories: arable resources (which are farms, plantations, and ranches) and capped resources (lumber, rubber, mining, oil, fishing, and whaling). For arable resources you need to add the resource building designation under arable_resources, in quotes, for it to appear. For capped resources you need to put the resource building designation and an amount under capped_resources. For example, if you want to give a state 5 slots for iron mines you add bg_iron_mining = 5

I have done that, but it does not appear in game.
Is the file usable for mods?
