One big tip for room creators.
If I had one general piece of advice for a lot of the rooms I've played, I would try to keep away from "nonsensical" puzzles if possible and put a bit more thought into the actual workings of the setting of what you're creating.

I've played a lot of rooms where the puzzles themselves are just pure magic. Like just placing statues on a table somehow magically makes something happen but there's no indication that there is an actual mechanism on the table (there aren't like mechanical sockets or anything), so you can't even begin to infer what you're supposed to do without hunting around for snap points.

One of the best escape room games I've played recently is a free demo for Escape Stories where you're escaping from a prison. Everything you do ultimately makes logical sense in the world. You might have to acquire a combination by cross referencing some papers, to get a box of punch cards, and then find the right code of punches to hit, etc. but there's no like... "you turned a skull to the east which somehow opened a door."

It's hard to describe exactly what I mean.
