Vertical Caverns
Hi folks, not just concerning vertical caverns per se, but the size of a cavern map in general. I can't seem to make it any size other than the largest most size specified, being 8192x4096. So it's either stretched out to fit that size, or it's a smaller area in a big empty cavern that size.
Can we not have cavern maps set to the size of the image we import?? Rather than fill in all that blank space with nothing. Cheers.

Unfortunately importing maps straight up just won't work anyway.
The level limit is quite large. Approximately 8000x4000 pixels. Not as big as it seems though as worms are roughly twice the pixel size to the ones in WA. It's not as straight forward as making the WA level twice the size either as levels are slower to navigate in WMD. Worms move slower and roping can be a lot clunkier.
I've, so far, been making WA levels I'm converting for WMD between 130% to 150% bigger, but even then there are issues as weapons, though as powerful as WA, destroy far more of the landscape. Also water at the bottom of a cavern map can drown from the start (the cavern barrier doesn't cover the bottom).
Lots of things like this (I'm sure there will be more) mean each level brought in from WA, if it's even possible, will need customising/rejigging to fit the quirks of WMD.

I noticed that you cant even generate a random map in vertical format, huh?

No, the default layout is horizontal. Would be nice if they added the option to switch between vertical/horizontal at some point. As long as there is interest in WMD I hope they will continue to listen, support and update it.

I just released Squatters and had to kinda "fake" a verticle layout. It's a bummer, but it's that or nothing for now.
