how to know you went overboard with your trail?
in the trail FAQ you mention trails that are distracting or make the game lag will not make it into the workshop and thats a good choice.
but how can i tell if my trail is lagging? my settings might work fine on my pc but will make a weaker one lag.

is there a console and a command to show fps so i can sea if my trail causes frame drops?
is there a rule of thumb to tell if my trail is going to be considered too resource intensive?

steam settings -> in-game fps counter -> set wherever you want to see fps.

thanks saga!
done a quick test with all my trails and couldn't find any frame drops with or without the trail, atleast not in the trail editor.
