Huge hangups when downloading workshop holes

I just recently took a break from making courses to try out some of the other ones already published. I started by subscribing to a bunch in the workshop page and then went in and played them, without much problem. But the next time I just did a few Random3's in-game, and when I launched it my whole machine locked up for about 10 minutes while it downloaded. The headset and game stopped responding first as the image froze, then the music froze, then even my mouse stopped responding. I waited it out though, and eventually things slowly returned and the game started. It seems that downloading the courses in-game puts some kind of crazy strain on my system.

Anyone else notice this?

Hey Timmypowergamer. Sorry it took so long to respond, the workshop discussion is a bit hidden so we didn't notice until now.

Is it still really bad for you? There was a few issues with how we were doing the downloading holes before that was really bad for performance. We fixed up a lot of the major issues since you commented this and the changes are in the version on Steam now. Downloading can still take some time, especially with slower internet connections, but it shouldn't freeze like it used to. Let us know if that is still an issue for you and we can take a close look at it.
