Has anyone made a virus yet based around "The Big Death" plague from Jeremiah that kills roughly 99.8% of its victims over 13 years of age until it burned out and left the world with just the youth?

Just curious as from the television show, the logic that they used for the spread of that man-made virus was very interesting in that panic and plane travel spread it from the original target country back on to the USA, before it went worldwide from there.
