Broken mods?
ok so LSS I tried to join a host MP session with a few friends & these mods all load fine for the 4 of them but me I get a list of 3 mods not loaded & one with 3 warnings the first is Sage Thrusters color pack, Then VCZ Airtight Connectors, & Star Wars Repulser lifts along with 3 warning about Keen Upgrade modules. I checked all 4 mod pages & find no other coments about mods failing to load I have the Log I'll be posting if any one knows how to fix this. Aditionally I'm not using mod.io, have not & will not use because I don't trust a 3rd party site that's requiring make an account with them when I only use Steam Workshop.

Hi, Steam is down for routine maintenance every Tuesday, so not a good day to play Modded on Tuesday.

I'll say tell the admin to create a testing world where he will add one Mod at a time, test tha failing ones to find more clues on what is going on.

guys I said that first but I'll say it again, its HOST MULTIPLAYER NO SERVER just the first guy in Florida opens the game set up the world, loaded the mods & they all worked for him, the couple from Arizona join all mods work, the Australian joins no problems I join & these mods don't load due to errors & all 4 other player "Admin" included can use & build with these parts I can use ships with them I just can't use the features, its not a steam download issue either cause I have these mods loaded for single player & they fail to load there too.

Problem is I get this log file that spits a bunch of useless code & info at me that I don't understand cause I'm NOT a Programmer! I look at the debug screen & fat lot of good that does me cause it doesn't tell me in english how to fix the problem nor does it say again in plain english what the problem is.

so again how do I fix this? cause I do love this game & I want to play it but sadly the Star Wars Repulser lifts are one of my 10 Mandatory mods I use to fix or counter what I see as over sites (whoever heard of a sci-fi ship with huge engines facing the wrong way) but sadly can't even play now cause my mods are busted & I don't see why they are or how to fix cause I'm the only one seemingly having this problem.

Like I said, the Steam server/download region you use may be down at the moment so try again later.

BUT

You may do some testing to find more clues on what is going on, and that can be done by creating a testing world where the host will add only the "Sage Thrusters color pack" first for example.

I will add :

Testing one Mod at a time is a Must in this game and you may follow the steps we all do after a game update to find the mods that needs to be removed and reported.

How to test a world or find broken/conflicting Mods :

1 - Select your save.
2 - Click the "Save as" button on the left.
3 - Change the save name to create a *copy.
4 - Withdraw or add one Mod at a time in the copy.

5 - Report to the Mod author (on WS item page) when broken Mod found so he can fix/update his Mod, always very kind to let them know.

Never test with your original save, better create a copy and fix the original save when solution found in the copy, this way you will not mess up your save.

Torkkar, I have a question, to find more clues :

-> What are the graphic settings of all PCs connecting and yours ?
(the host too) edited


Asking because better set all PCs on Default Medium Graphic settings to avoid loading problems in MP.

we all run this game on medium settings with low shadow quality though that still wouldn't explain why the mods failed for me in test world since when I subscribed to a mod it SHOULD be downloaded & archived locally on my end & not depend on steam to re-download the mods ever time.

Ok, so correct me if I am wrong :

-> it works when you create a local world with those Mods but not when you join that specific friends mode save.

no Local worlds don't load these mods either witch again seems odd to me with my understanding that subscribing to mods downloads & installs them locally and again I posted the log here but i've no clue how to read & get info from it.

Oh! they don't work at all in your Local save, that tells me you have to report to the Mod author or try again tomorrow cause Steam is in maintenance today.

Right on time for testing because I was not able to connect to Steam a bit before you shared the Star Wars Mod.

Testing done with the Star Wars Mod above ^

= Seemed OK tho I did not build a ship to test the thrusters but new blocks were added and I was able to paste those in creative mode.

So it may be a bad installation in the Mods folder in the Steam folder and deleting the Mod from that folder so it can redownload new may fix your problem.

OR
Report to the Mod author, he surely knows what you can do to fix.

I don't use Mods much and not sure where they goes in the Steam folder so I would have to search to be sure.
