is there like, any program besides the basics of notpad++ that would be useful or helpful for modding starbound? i'm having difficulty looking for anything on the internet that would get me to take off in modding, I saw the species modding one which is pretty straight forward but is there anything i need to make things like Tech?

the reason i ask is theres so much file types that have different extensions and don't open with anything so its hard to understand how people make these mods with so little information, so i'm sorry if this seems like a silly question.
