Loot and/or RPG Mods?
Anyone aware of any mods that add random stats/bonuses to scrapped gear or possibly a mod that expands the RPG features of the game?

Side note, I want a loot based Mech Assault ARPG at some point. Probably won't ever happen, but a man can dream.heh

YAML does have an upgrade mechanic for weapons, and while it isn't random stats, it makes looting a lot more involved, at least for me.

Normally you wouldn't care for yet another tier 2 medium laser at some point, but being able to use it for upgrades towards a tier 3 variant gives a lot of the random loot purpose for a long time.

Somewhat similar to crafting you find in most MMORPGs these days.

Pilot overhaul goes a good ways towards making the pilots more RPG-esc. Including affinity for mechs they pilot more often, etc.

MercTech sort of does some more with stats, but it is more leaning into battletech lore than loot shooter.

Funny enough, talking to some of the PGI folks, they were pushing for more loot shooter elements in the design, but it got pruned down during development.

I'll have to check those out.

Probably gonna grab the classic mech mods as well, because it just ain't right not having the Timberwolf and those others we had back in the day.

If they could have got the looter shooter stuff in I probably would have bought this day 1.heh

If you want clan stuff, the Yet Another Mech Lab (YAML) suite of mods has clan weapon and mech mods that can go with it. All should be up to date with the current game version. Of course, all of that is instead of merctech (which you'd probably enjoy also)

Hmm so which do you suggest since it is either/or?

I'm not sure merctech is updated for this game patch. It's super in-depth with a lot of cool features, but YAML is closer to like MWO's mechlab and works right now. I used to just have a save for each a swap around once in a while.

MercTech isn't yet updated for the latest patch, and doesn't work on the one before that either.

It is being updated for the latest patch though, they were just not going to update with the new DLC on the horizon to have it broken quickly after they update.
