RENDER ERROR making new maps / scenarios

Opening up the Essence Editor and following the FAQ instructions for creating a new map, I get a render error right from the start.

I can't open up or view any of the example maps (or new ones I construct) as it states . .

Editor graphics device unable to find the desired graphics adaptor, the render view may not function as expected. Ensure a monitor is attached to it or is set as the preferred adaptor in the windows graphics settings.

Erm . .

Not entirely sure what this means - can anyone advise? Can I not use a laptop to make maps? Do I need a seperate monitor to view the editor and make scenarios etc?

Where are the windows graphics settings options that it refers to?

Any assistance appreciated.

Sounds like an issue with the particular computer you're using, can't say much more.

That seems a little strange as it's quite powerful. - however, I'll try it out with an dual monitor setup, as it infers from the 'bugsplat' and see if that gets round the issue.
