u choose a server, not a mod.
find a server that suits u in the launcher -> hit "join" -> a window will pop up with the modlist of that server -> hit "setup dlcs and mods and join" - steam will download and install needed mods for that server from the workshop and afterwards connects u to it.
if u struggle with the serverlist on the default launcher (it can be very slow finding particular servers), theres an external launcher called DZSA: https://dayzsalauncher.com/#/home
Ah, ok, cheers.
I just went in the steam workshop and downloaded a few beforehand but you're saying that I can't actually just download any mod I want and then go play with it, I can only use whatever mods are on the server I am joining.
So now I can see the servers and see what mods they have installed yet I have no idea what those mods are or what they do until I have experienced them, or looked up their names on google to find out what they are. Seems a bit mad having the workshop and allowing people to download anything when the likelihood of being able to use the mods you download in one place at one time is very very low.
Cheers mate
Hi mate.
I had the same issue and couldn't find that folder but eventually I did find it. What you need to do is open the Day Z App and go to any of your mods, look at the settings area for the mod and you can see an option to show you the folder. Click that and you get a warning about not modifying the content. Click ok and it should open up the correct folder for you with all the workshop mods in.
