ive used a few workshop subs with drones that you navigate with external view,

how do i do this for the sub?

Wifi components allow you to transmit signals from the mothership to shuttles. This includes the nav terminal with a wireless engine and periscope with a wireless turret.

The Kastrull & Kastrull Drone are an example you can look at in the submarine editor. You can also load the submarines you saw on the editor to check out their workings.
