Making rails
Does anyone have some tips on how to make rails that are easy to grind? Whats the ideal material, width, curveature? Should I add some bigger invisible collision model around them?

I feel like grinding on halfpipes is way easier than grinding on rails atm.

Wish I knew, i was having a hard time making them even work. The metal object property seems to work better than concrete. There's no soundfx for it, but you can at least glide on them. My skate garage map has some examples so maybe look at that and see what not to do :worf_rage:

hi guys, i made a diagram of what the engine searches for:
https://skaterift.com/skaterift/img/rail.svg

it considers any edges with a sharp angle (around 45 degrees or more) as a grind target. if it finds multiple near eachother (within a 0.4m range or so), it merges them together at the center

so for a rail, you want a 3 sided mesh with sharp corners, and no faces on the underneath. that way it fuses them in the top center where the white arrow is. thats where it will stick you to.

as for the material, only thing it cares about is that its got the 'grind target' flag enabled.
hope that helps

Yep! that seemed to do the trick. Even audio was present with them set as metal. Updated my map file and added a few more rails.
