in your case i would put a mixed one of the other side of the crossing with the two arrows facing the crossing.
usaly you put a chain towards a crossing and a normal one leading away from it. if you use the track both ways use mixed, at least thats how i do it and it works decently untill some trackbuilder needs to go there...

One main rail leading from custom house - no train signal or mixed as well pointing two arrows to the junction where it divides to 2 rails?
