Map and clouds

Is there a possibility to toggle a map? There is a very thick cloud when one zooms out. Is there a way to get rid of it?

Also, is there a way to stop the system building unwanted roads and industries? I remember it did not. I wonder if this is a new feature, or I made it previously in my setting.

Please help me.

You can disable industry spawning in the savegame settings.
I believe the "fog" is just the limit of the render distance, there are mods that rise it, but at the cost of less performance.
