Updating BPs in steam
It used to be easy and straight forward to update BPs sometime ago...

Now what is the trick to update an existent Steam BP other than creating a new BP to upload into Steam? Thanks

Hi, it's very easy to update a Workshop item because we just have to redo the exact same thing we did the very first time.

= Must keep the Original Local Blueprint and republish this one to update the existing WS item.

How to :

1 - Aim at your creation in your world, that should be the original Bp you did some changes to, and hit Ctrl+C

2 - Open the Bp Window F10 and select the Original LOCAL Bp, so the one you published the very first time.

3 - Click the "Replace" button to change the original for the new updated version.

4 - Click the "Publish" button.

Oh! and make sure you don't change the Workshop item name from the Workshop page because that will prevent any more updates, so you will not be able to update the WS item.

that doesn't work... even have the steam cloud off as I saw in some other post...
ctrl+c copy but when the F10 selected ship BP has no options to replace other than just send something...

the ship name has not been changed on steam, only the wording was added via steam... does this locks the BP so that updates are now impossible? Thanks

Looks like you don't have or lost the Original Local Blueprint, only that Local Bp can update the Workshop item and have the needed buttons to change thumbnail, replace the Bp, and publish.

+ About the in-game Steam cloud option :

That in-game cloud in game options is not made to save, it's made to create "Cloud Blueprints" that will auto transfer to your second PC having the same Steam account and those can't be editied and published on the Workshop.

So we must keep that option disabled to create Local Blueprints that can be edited and published.

Verify the Local folder to see if the Original Blueprint is there (you need the Local one).

Blueprints are here :
Hit the Windows key + R and type in : %appdata%\SpaceEngineers
Goes to the SpaceEngineers folder
C: users / your username / appdata / roaming / spaceengineers

In the Blueprints foder you should see the folder named "Local" and maybe a folder named "Cloud" if that option was enabled.

IF you don't have the Original Local Blueprint, a player shared a Guide on how to create a new Local Bp that will be able to update the existing item :
