Boron turrets not available anymore

I added the blueprints for the Boron disruptor turret and Boron arc turret to my save file. Created a few defense platforms with Terran defense discs and made a loadout with a mix of turrets including the Boron ones I mentioned. The platforms worked great and is still firing away at enemies. But......
Then just now I go to another sector to create a defense platform and the Boron turrets won't show up as available to put on the Terran defense disc. I'm stumped as to what changed. Any thoughts?

Boron equipment by default cannot be equipped to non-Boron stations and ships. You will have to get a mod that removes the tag requirement so that you could use the turrets on any ship, station, or module.

Hmm, that's what I thought, yet was able to combine Boron onto Terran. I'm guessing one of the mods removed the tag without me knowing it and then I must have removed the mod and got the above results.
