Req. ship based on the S.T.U.N. Runner vehicle
I'm pretty sure that the first high-speed polygonal racing game was Stun Runner. I was a bit surprised to see there wasn't a mod/custom ship that resembles the one from that old game. If nobody is interested/inspired by this idea, then how would one go about importing and/or converting a model that could be added to the game?

Making it would be easy enough. I do have Sketch-Up, but as far as applying a skin/graphic to it... (shrug). Then maybe a file type conversion...

I don't think a direct 1:1 model would look as good as a WO'ified version, though.

Obviously, anyone can 'Google' what game this is, but here's a vid anyway.

The smaller 'bike'(?) version can be like the smaller vehicles in this (BallisticNG) game. Although whether or not it should resemble the arcade machine down to the CRT monitor -- it could. But (again) I think a modernized version would be better. This could also help in making the interior for a VR view. It MUST have the same handle/steering.

I wouldn't use the stripped-down 'car' version. Although, I don't know if a damage mechanic would be possible - where the 2 front guards and fins on the sides could break off.

Outside on the ship, it'd need the letters S.T.U.N. and a Katakana version スタン
If anyone has a better or more accurate idea of how to handle Katakana usage - I'm open to any advice.

Maybe it can be on (an) ATARI / アタリ Team(?) if that wouldn't be a ™ issue.

The main color would be Red, but dark gray would be used for the front inner section. A variant would be a yellow color and (maybe) wireframe variants.

Later variants (or Liveries) can be made.

I did find this video...

Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

I had the thought of posting this on the BallisticNG Dischord #mod-discussion.

Proposal for STUN Runner ship in BallisticNG

What is S.T.U.N. Runner?

Spread Tunnel Underground Network Runner
An arcade game from 1989, made by ATARI Games.

Why should a ship be in the game? It'd be a homage to one of, if not THE first futuristic high-speed vehicle game that involved weapon-based combat. There was also Chase H.Q. in 1988, but that had modern vehicles.

Straight Copy or Modern Upgrade?

Should it be a 1:1 conversion/import/remake of the original ship? I personally don't think so. I think this would be a bit lazy, but that probably doesn't mean a straight copy version shouldn't be available as a variation. I'd prefer it if it were a modernized model that more closely resembled the other ships from the (WO-styled) games, but still retained a strong resemblance to the vehicle it harkens back to. (Maybe something more angled on the sides, than the flat design of the original).

Gimmicks...

Should it behave like the other vehicles in how it uses weapons? Or should it have special characteristics? In the arcade game you had body panels (6) that counted as your shield. These would be broken off as you took damage. The vehicle also had 2 primary weapons. The laser cannons, and a shockwave. So should this vehicle only have these weapons? Or can it utilize others? It probably should (utilize other weapons) if it's going to be an updated/"modern" version.

Should the loss of the vehicle's shield (the 4 or 6 panels that adorn the vehicle) = higher stats in other categories? Like higher speed, but lowered maneuverability? Something in the sense of a 'Risk -vs- Reward' aspect?

Smaller vehicle design.

When you start out in the arcade game, you are (coincidentally enough?) riding on a cycle vehicle. If one were made it'd probably have to resemble the arcade sit-down cabinet. It (the game) did surround the (rider/driver) in the basic shell of the vehicle, but this (bike) would be perfect for the smaller vehicle variations there are in BallisticNG.

Interior/cockpit design for VR/1st person view.

Nothing more to say than it should look similar to the arcade controls with a window surrounding the player.

This was one of my favorite arcade games. Would love to see this. You have some good ideas!
