Q:Mod for persistent outposts through level
Im sorry if there is already a mod for this, but i searched for about an hour and couldnt find one (maybe i was foolish with my searches) but does anyone know about a mod that keeps outposts active and occupied even when on a mission and traveling from one point to another? i want to try and do a semi scripted (one event once) super hard core run where i lose my ship about half way and need to escape back to the outpost myself by swimming.

its an idea I thought would be cool, running around a rapidly flooding ship scrambling to find a dive suit and enough air (if there is enough) along with other supplies, the terrifyingly slow swim back to the last known location of the outpost, the constant feeling that something is nipping at your heels only to reappear right behind your nape when you go to look, the horror when you realize your buddy is no longer right behind you, never to be seen again.

I think i had a nightmare like that once lmao

Unfortunately i cant actually end (abondon) the mission or even have access to the (occupied) outpost since its an empty space by default until you dock a ship.

anyone know of any mods or any other way to get around this?

if you do i would really appreciate it.

I think this goes against how the game levels fundamentally work, not saying it would be impossible, but may require a lot of work to essentially rewrite core aspects of the game level system.
