If someone doesn't have him in their friends list you are pretty much out of luck, steam lacks any search enhancements for users, if they just had the ability to filter by game ownership it would be a dramatic improvement. Search for yourself sometime, if you didn't know your own details you wouldn't have any idea if you were looking at the right bread.
